PortSIP PBX v22.2.0 Released

PortSIP PBX v22 release

May 15, 2025, PortSIP is excited to announce the release of PortSIP PBX v22.2.0, a major update to our powerful and flexible unified communications platform. This version introduces several important features and enhancements focused on security, usability, and advanced call handling.

New Features and Enhancements

Security and Authentication

  • Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) via email verification codes is now supported for both web portal and app logins. This requires a properly configured mail server.

  • Password reset via email allows users to reset forgotten passwords securely using a reset link.

Night Mode Enhancements

  • Night Mode support extended to Queues, Ring Groups, and Virtual Receptionists. When activated, incoming calls are redirected to predefined destinations.

  • BLF key integration enables toggling Night Mode from supported IP phones.

  • PortSIP ONE app now supports Night Mode control directly within the app.

Call Handling Improvements

  • PIN-Based Calling: Users can dial a Feature Access Code (FAC) followed by a number, and the PBX will prompt for a voicemail PIN before placing the call.

  • New FAC to allow users to set or unset their default outbound caller ID.

  • Enhanced Call Park now supports SNOM phones.

  • Call Decline Enhancements:

    • If an agent declines a call, it won’t be offered again during the same session.

    • Declined calls are now routed to voicemail instead of being dropped.

  • Improved Transfer Behavior: After blind or attended transfers, caller and callee names/numbers are updated using the PAI header.

Notifications and Caller Display

  • Email alerts are sent when the concurrent call limit on a trunk is reached.

  • Caller display name replacement now uses the tenant (company) name in the following cases:

    • Queue callback calls

    • Calls from extensions in a user group with group caller ID

    • Calls forwarded during Night Mode by Queues, IVRs, or Ring Groups

New Integration

  • Integrated the SMS API and SIP trunk with the provider CM.com

Other Enhancements

  • Meeting join via URL is now supported.

  • Auto-provisioning support added for Aastra/Mitel 6xxxi IP phones.

  • Push notification validity extended from 3 to 7 days, now configurable via system.ini.

  • Header behavior changes: P-Asserted-Identity and Remote-Party-ID headers are now disabled by default for Queues and Ring Groups.

  • New SRTP policy option in the SBC web portal allows toggling the inclusion of SRTP info in SDP.

  • Updated Microsoft 365 redirect URI: After upgrading, the new URI must be configured in your Microsoft 365 integration settings.

Bug Fixes

  • Emergency calls are no longer billed.

  • Fixed issues causing WhatsApp trunks to appear offline and inbound messages to show incorrect numbers.

  • Anonymous trunk calls now include the required Privacy header.

  • Corrected extension_agent_status to use string values for extension IDs.

  • Webhook thread count management corrected.

  • “No Answer” destination now triggers properly when all agents are busy.

  • Resolved call recording issues with API-initiated calls that were unanswered.

  • Addressed Ring Group disconnection issue when the last agent declines a call and repeat is enabled.

  • Fixed Advanced Routing bug where only the last route was applied.
